Free apps have to make money somehow — usually by selling your attention or your data. newmonth doesn’t. Early release is free because it’s an early release, not because your data is the price: from 1.0, a simple subscription means our only job is to build budgeting software you’re happy to keep paying for.
That keeps our incentives aligned with yours: no ads to sell, no data to monetize, and nothing nudging you toward an upsell. One price, everything included, your data never sold.

What does “free while in early release” mean?
The full app, free, for as long as early release lasts — every feature included, no trial clock, and no payment details to enter. It’s a real App Store release; “early release” just means we’re still polishing before calling it 1.0.
What happens when early release ends?
When newmonth 1.0 ships, it becomes a paid app — and everyone who downloaded during early release keeps full access, free, for 3 more months after 1.0. After that you choose a plan, or keep your data in a read-only app. Nothing auto-converts and nobody is charged by surprise — you never entered payment details in the first place.
What if I decide not to pay?
Your budget stays yours. The app switches to read-only — every screen still there to look at — and exporting your data stays free forever. We don’t hold your financial history hostage.
How does the lifetime purchase work?
From 1.0 you can pay $44.99 once and newmonth is yours for good — no subscription, no renewals, and everything the subscription includes. It’s a regular one-time App Store purchase tied to your Apple Account.
How are billing and refunds handled?
Billing runs entirely through your Apple Account and the App Store — newmonth never sees or stores your payment details. Refunds are handled by Apple under their standard App Store policy.
How do I cancel once I’ve subscribed?
Manage or cancel your subscription anytime in Settings on your iPhone, under your Apple Account → Subscriptions. There’s no account to close and nothing to email us about.
