Privacy

Your data never leaves your devices.

Most budgeting apps ask for your bank login and keep your finances on their servers. newmonth doesn’t — not because we promise not to look, but because there’s nothing to look at. Privacy here is architecture, not a pledge.

How newmonth syncs Your iPhones sync through your own iCloud. There is no newmonth server in the middle. Your iPhone Your iCloud Another iPhone No newmonth server
Your devices sync through your own iCloud — there’s no newmonth server in the middle.

No bank connections

newmonth never links to your bank, and there’s no aggregator (Plaid, MX) in the loop. You add transactions yourself or import a statement file — so every entry is on purpose, and your banking credentials are never shared with anyone.

No account

There’s nothing to sign up for and no password to manage. Without an account there’s no profile to breach, no email list to leak, and nothing tying your budget to your identity on someone else’s system.

On-device storage

Your budget is stored locally on your iPhone with Apple’s CoreData. It’s there when you’re offline, it’s yours, and it never has to leave the device to be useful.

Your iCloud, not our cloud

When your data does sync between your devices, it travels through your own iCloud (CloudKit) using your Apple Account — never a newmonth server. The developer has no access to your iCloud data and cannot read your budget.

No ads, no tracking, no third-party SDKs

The app ships with no advertising, no analytics, no trackers, and no third-party code at all. There is no behind-the-scenes data collection because there is no machinery to do it.

Even this website doesn’t track you

This site is built the same way — no cookies, no analytics, no fingerprinting, no consent banner to dismiss, and nothing personal collected. The trustworthiness the app sells starts here.
