The Home tab
The app opens on Home. It's a list of things to do, not an overview. A card goes away once its work is done. So an empty Home means you're finished for now.
What's on it
- To Assign at the top: the money this month that you have not planned yet. Tap Assign Money to go to the Budget tab, ready to assign. At zero it reads All assigned. If you've assigned too much, the amount turns red. Then Adjust assignments takes you there.
- Getting Started: the setup checklist while you're new. See Set up your budget .
- Needs Attention: everything still open, one row per kind. A category can be overspent, short of its goal or short for its scheduled spending. A card statement can be ready to pay or overdue. A transaction can need a category, a review or clearing. With nothing open it shows All caught up.
- Pinned: the categories you watch, with what's available in each. Tap Pin categories you check often or Edit to choose them.
- Upcoming: the rest of this month's scheduled transactions, by week. Tap it for the full Scheduled list.
- Recent Activity: in a shared budget, what your partner entered in the past week. Tap a row to open it.
Work the list
- Tap a row in Needs Attention.
- For a category problem, the window to move money opens right there: Cover Overspending or Move To. With several categories, you get a list and fix them one by one.
- For transactions, a list of just those opens. Work through it, then close it to come back.
- For a statement, the card's account opens on the Accounts tab. Pay statement balance is ready there.
Good to know
- Tap a pinned category for the same menu as on the Budget tab: Add Transaction, Move Money, Show Activity and more.
- Pinned categories are saved on this device only. So in a shared budget, each of you can watch different categories.
- holds Active Budget, Share Budget, Hide Amounts and Settings.
- adds a transaction. See Add a transaction .
