Move money between categories
Plans change. Moving money takes assigned money from one category and gives it to another. You can also move money to and from To Assign, the money you have not planned yet. No transaction is created.
Steps
- On the Budget tab, tap a category, then tap Move Money. You can also touch and hold the category and choose Move Money.
- A window opens with that category at the top. If it holds money, you move money out of it (Move From). If it's at zero or below, you move money into it (Move To). Tap the arrow below it to switch direction.
- Pick the other side from the list that opens: another category or To Assign. Where it can, the app fills in the amount by itself. It is enough to cover what's missing, and never more than there is to move.
- To change the amount, tap the row and type a new one. The calculator works here too.
- Want to split it across several categories? Tap Add another category and pick more.
- Tap to move.
Good to know
- Every row shows its Available amount before and after. So you see the result before you confirm.
- If a move would take a category below zero, the app asks first: Move Anyway or Cancel.
- To take money out of a category and plan it again later, move it to To Assign.
