What's in Settings
To open Settings, tap on any tab. Then tap Settings.
The parts of Settings
- Budgets: tap Manage Budgets to see all your budgets. Tap next to a budget to change its name, Currency or Date Format. See Use more than one budget .
- iCloud: iCloud Sync shows if this device sends its changes to iCloud. See iCloud sync .
- Personalization: Appearance sets the colors: System, Light or Dark. Mark Labels gives names to the mark colors. Notifications sets what newmonth may tell you, see Notifications . Show Help Text shows or hides the short explanations and the buttons that open Help. The button at the top of a screen always stays.
- Security: this switch is called Face ID or Touch ID. On some devices it is called App Lock. When it is on, newmonth asks for your face, finger or code when it starts. It also hides your budget in the list of open apps.
- Import & Export: Export Budget saves a copy as a file. Import Budget File, Import from YNAB and Import Profiles bring data in. See Export a backup or a CSV and Import transactions from a file .
- Automation: Apple Pay Capture and Bank Alerts add your payments for you. See Capture Apple Pay payments and Capture bank alerts .
- Help & Support: Help opens these pages. What's New shows recent changes. Show Getting Started Guide shows the first steps again. Report an Issue opens an email to us. It contains facts about the app and your device, never your money data. You can read and change it before you send it.
Price
At the bottom you see the app version and sometimes a note about the price.
Good to know
- Your budgets are saved in your own iCloud, not on a newmonth server.
- Currency and formats belong to each budget. Everything else in Settings is only for this device.
- Hide Amounts is not in Settings. You find it under on the Home, Budget, Transactions and Insights tabs.
