How the Accounts tab works
The Accounts tab lists every account with its balance. Tap an account to see its transactions. On a wide screen, like an iPad, they open beside the list.
At the top
These always show the current month.
- Cash in budget accounts: the money in your checking, savings and cash accounts. Cards and loans don't count here.
- Assigned: what you assigned this month.
- To Assign: the money you have not planned yet.
- Spent this month: what left your budget, card and loan accounts. Transfers between them don't count. A refund doesn't lower this number, so it can be higher than the spending on Insights.
Read a row
- On the left are the account's icon and name.
- On the right, the top amount is the balance. It's red below zero. On a card or loan, a balance below zero is what you owe.
- The amount with ↓ is what you spent from this account this month.
- Each group's header shows its total. For Tracking Accounts, see Add an account .
The orange line
An orange line under the name shows what the account still needs. You see only the first that applies:
- Transactions that need a category or your review. See Review captured transactions .
- Uncleared transactions: your bank doesn't show them yet. See What the status dots mean .
- You haven't reconciled in a while, and there are new transactions. See Reconcile an account .
- On an investment account: its value is more than five weeks old. See Track an investment's value .
