Review captured transactions
Some transactions arrive without you typing them. The app captures them from an Apple Pay payment, a bank message or a file. A repeating transaction can also add itself. Each one waits until you look at it. Reviewing moves no money. It only means "I checked this".
Open the review list
- On Home, under Needs Attention, tap the row about transactions to review.
- On the Transactions tab, tap Show next to the same message.
- Or tap the notification about a new transaction.
A row that waits for review shows a gray dashed circle next to its amount.
Review a row
- Tap the row. Check the payee, the amount and the Category.
- Tap . The row is now reviewed.
Is everything right already? Swipe the row to the right and tap Reviewed. For many rows, select them and tap Status → Mark Reviewed.
Possible Match
Sometimes a new row looks like a row you already have. For example, you typed a purchase yourself, and then the bank message came. The new row then shows Possible Match and the other row below it. Tap the new row and choose:
- Same Transaction: it is one payment. Your first row stays, with its payee, category and notes. It gets the new amount. The new row goes away.
- Keep Both: these are two different payments. Both rows stay.
If you start to change the new row, this choice goes away.
When a new row matches a row you typed or scheduled exactly, the app matches them by itself. You see Possible Match only when the app is not sure.
To match two rows yourself, touch and hold one and tap Find Match.
Needs a category
Sometimes the app can't find a category for a new row. The row then shows Category Needed. Tap Show next to the message about transactions that need a category. Give each row a category, or select many and give them one Category.
