Transfer between accounts

Steps
- Open Add Transaction with .
- Tap Transfer at the top.
- Type the amount.
- Tap From Account and pick the account the money leaves.
- Tap To Account and pick the account the money goes to. swaps the two.
- Check the Date. Add a note if you like.
- Tap to save.
Transfers and your budget
- A budget account is an account whose money you plan with, like checking or cash.
- Between two budget accounts, a transfer changes the account balances. It does not change any category. The form shows Category Not Needed.
- To Assign, the money you have not planned yet, stays the same.
- A transfer is not the same as Move Money. Move Money moves planned money between categories. See Move money between categories .
- A tracking account only follows a value, like an investment. Money that goes into it leaves your budget, so it needs a category.
- Money from a tracking account into a budget account goes to To Assign unless you pick a category. Money you lent out can go back to the category it came from. That lowers its spending and isn't income.
- Money from a tracking account into a credit card or loan pays down the debt. A category is optional there, and without one To Assign stays the same.
Paying a credit card
To pay your credit card, make a transfer from checking to the card. You already gave a category to each purchase. So the payment needs no category.
If Track statement is on for the card, open the card's account. Tap Pay statement balance. This form opens with the amount on your card bill already filled in. See Credit cards and loans .
Good to know
- If you delete a transfer, it goes away from both accounts.
- You can change a saved transfer into an expense or income. Then the app deletes its other half. It asks you first.
- A transfer can repeat, for example a monthly payment to savings. Set Recurring. See Schedule a repeating transaction .
